Located in Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs, Knox City Council is seeking a Coordinator Health Services to lead, manage and deliver Council's responsibilities in public and environmental health services, including immunisation services. This position will operate under a range of Victorian legislation including but not limited to the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008, the Food Act 1984, Environment Protection Act 1970 and Local Government Act 1989. 


Working closely with the Manager City Safety & Health and partnering with other senior leaders, this role is integral in developing and maintaining strategic and functional public and environmental health services at all levels within Council and the community.


About you:


You will have successful leadership experience along with an extensive understanding and knowledge of the local government and environmental health sector, including the ability to oversee the development and implementation of health initiatives and programs.


You're able to effectively navigate leading a broad team and promote positive engagement to ensure exceptional service is provided. You will enjoy the benefits of working amongst a team of dedicated professionals who come from diverse backgrounds and experience.


After hours work is required in response to emergency incidents.


Applicants must have:

  • Demonstrated experience in building and leading high performing teams and fostering positive engagement

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability influence stakeholders, prepare reports, complex correspondence, technical health services materials and operational documents

  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Health recognised by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) with eligibility to work in Victoria as an Environmental Health Officer

  • Highly developed skills in customer service, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and continuous improvement.


  • Annual Salary starting at $112,749.94 - $126,592.59.

  • 9.5% Superannuation.

  • Personal use vehicle is available within the remuneration package upon request.
