About the Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Early Years Support Officer (EYSO) to support the Integrated Child family Health and Wellbeing team members and families accessing the Knox Maternal and Child Health service via our central booking pathways. The successful applicant will be the primary initial contact for families wishing to book a Key age and stage appointment for their child within the Victorian MCH Framework.

The EYSO role is permanent part time 22 hours over 5 days, actual hours worked negotiable with successful applicant

This role attracts an annual salary of $66,447-$70,878 (pro rata) plus 10% superannuation.

About the Team

The MCH EYSO’s work collaboratively with others across the broader Family & Children’s Services teams, and across Council to support incoming communications from families, allied health and Department of Health professionals, triaging whether the customer requires: assessment appointments, internal communication liaison, local community connections or transfer processes into our local government area

What you will need to thrive

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Evidence of excellent customer service in prior employment
  • Efficient with ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in administration and business systems, preferably within a local government setting
  • Have an understanding of the needs of families from a broad spectrum of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds
  • Knowledge of the Victorian MCH service and an understanding of broader Early Years services
  • Have an understanding of legislative requirements regarding client privacy and confidentiality of record keeping
  • Have well-developed skills in MS Office Suite, preferable experience in Child Development Information Systems (CDIS) and Electronic Data Management Systems.
  • Qualification for the role of Early Years Support Officer: Certificate IV in Administration and/or previous experience in a similar administrative position
  • Previous experience in family and children’s services in a local government
