About the Opportunity

We have 2 exciting opportunities for a Corporate Records Officer to join our team.
In this role you will make a difference daily by delivering core records management activities to support the full range of Council functions. You will provide records management advice and support to all areas of Council and promote the Records Management function. You will scan, triage and register documents and emails and create workflows to distribute correspondence to Council staff. Drawing on your knowledge of and experience in records appraisal, you will sentence records according to Public Records Office Victoria (PROV) Retention and Disposal Authorities and Council procedures, and manage records retrieval requests and returns to and from off-site storage. A flair for innovation will see you identify and help implement process improvements, and you will work with the Corporate Records team to deliver key records-related projects.

We have two opportunities on offer, a part-time role (26 hours per week) for a 6-month fixed term, and a full time role (38 hours per week) for a 12-month fixed term duration.

The roles are classified as Band 4, and remuneration will be $66,447 - $70,878 (pro rata, depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will need to thrive

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Public Records Act 1973, supporting PROV Standards, Specifications, Guidelines and Advices.
  • Demonstrated application of records management policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated archiving experience in the application of PROV Retention and Disposal Schedules.
  • Demonstrated experience with an electronic document records management system (EDRMS) and proficiency in the use of desktop based office applications. (experience with Kapish Explorer and/or Content Manager will be highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated experience in the handling, processing and distribution of all inward and outward mail items.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
