Your new role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Team Leader to provide operational leadership for the Maternal and Child Health Service at Knox.
The MCH nursing teams work collaboratively with others across the broader Family & Children’s Services teams, and across Council to help to identify children and families who require further assessment, intervention, referral and/or support and bring families together, foster social networks, support playgroups and strengthen local community connections.
The Maternal Child Health Team supports all staff to work across more specific programs such as Enhanced Maternal and Child Health and Special Care nursery liaison when available. The level of experience a person has had within MCH practice will be taken in to account prior to commencing an EMCH rotation.
This is a permanent role part time based at the Civic Centre, working 4 days per week (preferably Tuesday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm - Thursday and Friday are required days, other days are negotiable).
What you will need to thrive
The key selection criteria for this role are:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Have an understanding of family dynamics and societal complexities;
- Experience working with families from a broad spectrum of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds;
- Experience working with and leading teams internally and externally;
- Demonstrated understanding of Child and Family Violence Information Sharing Schemes and risk assessment frameworks;
- Have well-developed skills in Child Development Information Systems (CDIS) and Electronic Data Management Systems;
- Have a current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a registered nurse and a registered midwife and to also hold recognised qualifications in Maternal and Child Health nursing.
