About the role 

We have an exciting temporary opportunity for a Project Delivery Engineer to join our Civil Construction team (5 months). As a project delivery engineer, you will make a difference daily by assisting with the development and delivery of annual strategic asset renewal programs and capital work programs/projects for civil related infrastructure in accordance with Council strategies and policies. You will report directly to the Team Leader Civil Construction and work collaboratively with the Civil Construction team facilitating a number of our key projects. 
 
This is a full-time temporary role based at the Operations Centre.  We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.

This is a Band 6 classified role. Remuneration will be $95,488.69 to $104,288.00 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee. 

What you will bring to this role  

The key selection criteria for this role are: 

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering suitable for registration as a professional engineer in accordance with the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019 (minimum Washington Accord recognised bachelor degree).
  • Knowledge of the Local Government and road management environment and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to effectively communicate and collaborate with the team, other Council staff, contractors and the local community.
  • Asset management skills to assist in the development of strategic asset renewal and civil infrastructure programs.
  • Project management and stakeholder/community consultation skills in the delivery of civil infrastructure projects and ability to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Contract management skills – ability to develop contracts, including specifications, and ability to successfully manage contractors.
  • Technical understanding and working knowledge of civil engineering / infrastructure principles.
  • Financial and budgetary skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral, including the ability to relate to personnel both within the organisation and outside of Council
