About the role 

We currently have an opportunity for a Technical Officer to support the Building team, commencing Monday 7 July 2025 for a 6 month period.

Reporting to the Building Coordinator / Municipal Building Surveyor and working closely with the City Planning and Building team, this opportunity exists to support the team through a high demand in Building applications and to ensure that the high level of compliance regarding the swimming pool register (overseen by the Building team) continues.

Support applications and enforcement of building legislation and regulations impacting the City of Knox and City Planning and Building.

Ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in these processes, promoting high-quality development aligned with the City Development Business Plan

Under supervision, assist in implementing relevant building controls and policies efficiently and effectively, ensuring high-quality development outcomes align with the Corporate Plan, Municipal Strategic Statement, and the distinctive characteristics of the City of Knox.

The role is a Band 5 position, working 3 days a week.

Location: Civic Centre or Hybrid depending on work and meeting demands.
