Your new role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to work full time until 7th February 2025. This position provides Occupational Therapy services to clients within the Knox municipality referred via the My Aged Care (MAC) Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).  The role involves developing, actioning and reviewing person-centred, goal-directed care plans and working within a Wellness and Reablement approach to promote client’s ability to maximise their independence and remain living safely at home and within the community. This role is based at Wantirna South, however we can offer flexible work options for the right candidate.

This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $95,488.69 - $104,288.00 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

You will hold:

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent Occupational Therapy Degree
  • Grade 2 Occupational Therapist level equivalent, ideally with minimum three years of clinical experience.  Occupational Therapy Australia membership (highly desirable)
  • Current Victorian drivers license is required this role.

What you will need to thrive

The key selection criteria for this role are:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the My Aged Care Commonwealth Home Support Programme and the Wellness and Reablement approach.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and sensitivity to, the support needs of older people living at home, and their carers/significant others, including the needs of diverse groups such as people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people living with dementia.
  • Experience of effectively engaging clients holistically to ascertain their goals and develop care plans that empower clients to achieve them.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in the provision of Occupational Therapy services within a community-based area of practice, in particular assessment and prescription of home modifications and assistive equipment.
