Your new role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Health Promotion Officer to join the Community Wellbeing team at Knox City Council. Bring your passion and skills in health promotion and partnerships to develop policies, strategies and programs that work towards achieving positive health outcomes for the Knox community. This role will be integral to the development, implementation and review of the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan. We are seeking someone who has experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders, demonstrates initiative, problem solving and has a collaborative approach to achieving positive health promotion outcomes in a local government setting.

This is a permanent part-time (0.8 FTE) role based at the Knox civic Centre in Wantirna South, however we can offer a range of flexible work options for the right candidate.

This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $95,488.69 - $104,288.00 (depending on experience) (pro rata for part-time) plus superannuation in accordance with the superannuation Guarantee.

What you will need to Thrive

The key selection criteria for this role are:

  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of a Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing plan and the requirements under the Health and Wellbeing Act (2008)
  • Knowledge of the social determinants of health and how to apply them to policies, strategies and project
  • Demonstrated experience in high level project management skills
  • Ability to prepare concise, accurate and well communicated project plans and reports
  • Demonstrated experience in building strong and collaborative internal and external partnerships
  • Ability to deliver presentations tailoring styles to a variety of audiences
