About the role
Come and join the Early Years Department at Knox where you will have to opportunity to provide business support to the teams delivering services and support to the children and families in the municipality. This is a vital support role reporting to the Manager Early Years that provides high level, effective, efficient and confidential support and administrative services to support the effective operation of the department. You will make a difference daily by working collaboratively with both the Early Years Team and business officers across the Connected Communities directorate.
This is a full time permanent role based at the Knox City Council Civic Centre in Wantirna South. This role is largely based onsite however we can support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.
This is a Band 5 classified role. Remuneration will be $78,036.84 - $90,793.94 p.a. (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
What you will bring to this role
The key selection criteria for this role are:
- Appropriate qualifications in Office Administration or related field, or substantial relevant office administrative experience;
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in a similar personal assistant/secretarial role (experience in an administrative/executive position at management level would be well regarded);
- Knowledge of relevant computer and associated software and programs, e.g. Microsoft Office365;
- A demonstrated understanding of the functions and operations of Local Government would be an advantage;
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience and skills in best practice and contemporary administration policies, procedures and systems;
- Proven experience in working in a busy and varied administrative, personal assistant or project support position with the ability to work with minimal daily supervision, under pressure with conflicting priorities, meet strict deadlines and multi-task;
- Highly developed and demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, act confidentially and ethically and report appropriately in relation to sensitive operational matters;
- Experience in dealing with both internal and external customers.
