About the role 

As our new Senior Stormwater Projects Engineer, you will make a difference daily by providing engineering insight and support across the team. Key responsibilities will include the management of civil construction projects from conceptual design through to community engagement, detailed design and ultimately procurement. The provision of sound technical advice to inform conditions for Building & Town Planning permits and Subdivisional development. Investigation and remediation of stormwater matters, including flooding and stormwater quality and/or stormwater harvesting; Collect, model and analyse data for the preparation of stormwater strategies and catchment master plans as requested; and Liaise, advise and advocate on behalf of Knox City Council in relation to integrated water management services with State and Federal Authorities such as, Vic Roads, Utility Service Providers, Telecommunications, Water Authorities, Local Councils and other planning and development related authorities regarding provision of integrated Stormwater services.

You will report directly to the Coordinator of Strategic Integrated Stormwater and work collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders to support future development and the delivery of a number of key projects.  
 
This is a full-time permanent role based at Knox City Council's Civic Centre in Wantirna South.  We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.

This is a Band 7 classified role. Remuneration will be $107,507.54 - $120,572.47 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee. 

What you will bring to this role  

The key selection criteria for this role are: 

  • Well developed in Municipal stormwater systems and flood investigations (or equivalent integrated stormwater management experience) is desirable.
  • Specialist knowledge in the application of best practice Catchment Hydrology, Water Sensitive Urban Design and Integrated Water Cycle Management principles with proficiency in the application of engineering theory, procedures, practices, Acts & Regulations.
  • Experience in reviewing plans for construction, producing tender documentation and the procurement process.
  • Well developed in the project management of civil (particularly stormwater) projects.
  • Experience in the use of M.U.S.I.C. (Model for Urban Stormwater Improvement Conceptualisation), RORB, TUFLOW and GIS packages (QGIS & MapInfo).
  • Experience in providing sound technical advice to shape future subdivisional development is highly desirable.
  • Hold appropriate tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • Hold current Professional Engineer registration issued by the Business Licensing Authority, Victoria.
