About the role
We are currently on the lookout for two Reactive Drainage Maintenance Officers to join us on a full-time permanent basis! As our new Reactive Drainage Maintenance Officers, you will perform tasks related to the maintenance of Council owned Drainage Assets and Infrastructure. You will also assist in the delivery of established Maintenance Programs and Services within the Civil Maintenance Department. Key responsibilities will include Drainage Maintenance activities comprising of minor drainage structure repairs, pit lid or surround replacement and pit & pipe cleaning. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and friendly team that will work out of our Operations Centre in Knoxfield.
This is a full-time permanent role based at Councils Operations Centre. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.
This is a Band 3 classified role. Remuneration will be $66,045.65 to $70,515.27 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
What you will bring to this role
The key selection criteria for this role are:
- Proven experience undertaking minor mechanical repairs, basic carpentry, basic concreting skills and pit and pipe repairs.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to provide supervision and guidance to colleagues, casual employees and contractors to ensure completion of works to agreed standards.
- The ability to work as part of a self-managed team ensuring safe work practices and methods are followed.
- Knowledge of the Confined Space Entry works, Occupation Health and Safety Act and E.E.O.
- Personal values and behaviours aligned to those of Knox City Council.
- Basic mechanical skills or relevant trade certificates
- Ability to use a mobile device for work purposes.
- A Current Medium- Heavy Rigid Victorian Driver’s License
- Basic Traffic Management qualification
