About the role

This is a full-time permanent role based at one of our exceeding Children and Family Centres located in Wantirna South Or Bayswater. Each of our hubs has two Team Leaders to allow for a collaborative and dynamic leadership role with shared responsibilities to drive service delivery and excellence.

As an integral position within the Early Years Leadership team, the Team Leaders Early Years Hubs, act as Nominated Supervisor and Person with Management and Control for the purposes of the National Quality Standards and person with day-to-day charge of the service for the purposes of Family Assistance Law.

The primary responsibility of the Team Leader Early Years Hubs is to manage the day-to-day operations of the Long Day Care and Sessional Kindergarten programs, to ensure compliance with relevant Laws, Regulations, standards, approved frameworks and all Knox City Council policies and procedures, while supporting the successful integration of co-located services including MCH, Playgroup and Allied Health Services.

The successful applicant will work in collaboration with the Early Years Hubs leadership team to provide responsive and high-quality early childhood services, embedded in strong child and family centered and collaborative practice. Each hub has a full-time non-contact Program Leader who supports the pedagogy and practice of the service as the Educational Leader and a full-time administration support position.

This position will also uphold Council’s commitment to ensuring child safety and the protection of children against abuse, through complying with, promoting and advocating for Child Safe practices, in line with the Victorian Child Safe Standards and Council’s Child Safe Policy and Procedures.

This is a Band 6 classified role. Remuneration will be $98,353.35 to $107,416.64 (depending on experience) (pro-rata for part time) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

  • Applied sound knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, quality standards, and approved frameworks relating to Early Years services, including Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct processes.
  • Proven experience in managing early years services encompassing budget oversight, rostering, regulatory and organisational reporting, recruitment, and people leadership.
  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Skilled in engaging and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders to build cooperation and achieve shared outcomes.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and innovation in delivering high-quality, integrated, and inclusive early years services.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, high-quality reports and deliver professional presentations.
