About the role 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Office Administrator to join the Waste Management team here at Knox.

This is a part-time (3 days per week), permanent role based at the Civic Centre. Due to current work arrangements within the team, there exists an opportunity for this role work full-time until 30 June 2026 before reverting to part time.

As our Office Administrator you will make a difference daily by providing administrative support across the team, engage directly with the community to deliver great services and resolve the many and varied waste management customer service requests. Key responsibilities include managing the shared inbox, corresponding directly with internal and external customers and working with stakeholders and contractors to deliver great customer outcomes.  You will report to the coordinator waste management and work closely with other members of a dynamic and friendly team on a broad range of tasks.
 
We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.

This is a Band 5 classified role under the Knox City Council Enterprise Agreement. Remuneration will be $80,377.95 to $93,517.76 gross per annum (pro rata) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will bring to this role  

The key selection criteria for this role are: 

  • Administration experience, preferably in areas related to waste management;
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to liaise with management, staff, contractors and customers;
  • An ability to prepare high quality correspondence and manage request resolution from start to finish via systems such as Pathway;
  • Proven experience in liaising and negotiating with stakeholders, to identify and resolve issues, sometimes in difficult environments;
  • Sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
