Your new role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Team Leader – Parking Enforcement at Knox. As Parking Team Leader, you will provide strong leadership and guidance to the Parking Enforcement Team, ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance with relevant legislation, and positive community engagement.
In this role, you will oversee enforcement activities, undertake patrols, manage schedules, provide training and guidance, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will make a real difference every day by helping to keep our streets safe, accessible, and well-regulated for the community.
This is a full-time, permanent position based that the Knox Civic Centre, with opportunities for additional overtime. Remuneration is BAND 6 $98,353.35 - $107,416.64 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
A tool of trade vehicle is provided with this role.
Skills, qualifications, licences & experience
The key selection criteria for this role are:
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, including mentoring, coaching, developing staff, and monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery.
- Substantial experience in parking enforcement, local laws, or compliance services within a local government context.
- Sound knowledge of relevant parking, infringement, and compliance legislation, and the ability to interpret and apply legislation.
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complaints and take appropriate enforcement action.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal effectively with complaints and enquiries.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage conflict and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure, manage competing priorities, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong analytical and service improvement skills, with the ability to interpret and analyse data, identify trends, monitor service performance and use insights to inform operational efficiency, strengthen compliance outcomes, and ensure the effective use of technology and team resources.
- Demonstrated ability to critically review existing practices, implement innovative and practical solutions, and deliver measurable service improvements across parking enforcement operations.
- Competence in maintaining accurate records, preparing correspondence and reports, analysing data, and using relevant technology systems and mobile enforcement devices.
- A demonstrated commitment to Council’s values.
- Degree or Tertiary qualification combined with relevant experience or substantial relevant experience in the field of specialist expertise.
