About the role
Knox City Council is seeking a permanent part time, customer‑focused Business Support Officer - Planning and Building to provide professional, efficient and high‑quality service within the City Planning and Building Department.
This role delivers frontline customer service across face‑to‑face counters, call centre and online channels, responding to a high volume of general planning and building enquiries while providing essential administrative support to the team.
This is a part time permanent role based at Knox Civic Centre working 26.6 hours per week.
The roster for this position is as follows:
Monday, Thursday and Friday 10.01am until 3.00pm
Tuesday and Wednesday 8.25am until 3.00pm
We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.
This is a Band 4 classified role. Remuneration will be $73,349.33 to $78,124.95 (depending on experience) (pro-rata for part time) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
The key selection criteria for this role are:
- Experience in a high‑volume call centre or customer service environment
- Knowledge of planning and building processes in a local government environment is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service excellence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Well‑developed computer skills
- Experience using PATHWAY desirable
