About the role 

The Early Years Planning and Partnerships team has an exciting short-term opportunity for a Strategic Project Officer to help deliver key projects across the department. In this role, you will use practical project management skills to plan and deliver projects and coordinate resources to make sure key tasks are completed on time while working closely with others. You will also help maintain data systems and processes that support project delivery and ensure all project documents, such as work plans and reports, are accurate and up to date. You’ll work with both internal teams and external partners to support smooth and effective project delivery.

This is a full-time, temporary role until mid-January 2027, based at Knox Civic Centre. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.

This is a Band 6 classified role. Remuneration will be $98,353.35 to $107,416.64 (depending on experience) (pro-rata for part time/fixed term) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee. 

What you will bring to this role  

The key selection criteria for this role are: 

  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a way that reflects Knox City Council and Early Years Department values which includes working in an integrated, collaborative and innovative way with others.
  • Demonstrated experience in or substantial knowledge of the early years and family support service system in Victoria and Australia, including the role/s of local government in Victoria.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in strategic research, policy analysis and translation, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a variety of complex tasks concurrently in line with agreed objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly establish sound and trusting working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
