About the Opportunity

Due to the current IT project workload, we have an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our IT Project Delivery team on a fixed term basis for a 3-year contract.

We are looking for someone who has experience in managing a variety of application and technical projects, collaborating with business stakeholders and system vendors, to deliver high quality solutions for the organisation.

We are a team of passionate IT project delivery professionals who care about delivering technical solutions for a wide range of business opportunities. We have been running a successful IT delivery program, establishing trust with our governance bodies and helping to introduce a step change in Council’s delivery of improved customer and staff experience. 

You will be part of a great team culture where we support each other to succeed. We provide development support on the job, training opportunities in line with your development plan and opportunities to network and develop through the Local Govt Association.

This is a temporary full time role based at our Civic Centre however we can offer a range of flexible and hybrid work options for the right candidate.

This is a Band 8 classified role, remuneration will $122,052.72 - $137,037.50 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will need to thrive

The key selection criteria for this role are:

  • Demonstrated senior experience in project management across multi-functional business units.
  • Exceptional verbal and report writing skills, including procedures documentation and presentation experience.
  • Demonstrated experience within a modernised IT environment with proven ability to motivate and influence an environment that fosters the exploitation of technological advancement and business demand.
  • Proven ability to lead a project team by building and motivating team members to deliver a united approach to service development and project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability in driving customer focused excellence by working in collaboration with clients and taking responsibility to meet client’s needs.
  • Demonstrated experience with creative and hypothesis driven problem solving, resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executives, sponsors, team members, stakeholders and peers with a successful track record of developing business relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience of financial and strategic planning.
